Don't Blink.

“I look up at the night sky, and I know that, yes, we are part of this Universe, we are in this Universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the Universe is in us. When I reflect on that fact, I look up—many people feel small, because they’re small and the Universe is big, but I feel big, because my atoms came from those stars” - Neil deGrasse Tyson

Just when you thought that Dr. Tyson’s video exploration of everything that makes us special in our world and beyond couldn’t get any better, it gets the GIF treatment. Nice work.

Watch it again, and then again.

….and again and again. holy f- those colours are BEAUTIFUL!!! sorry, have to reblog for awesome colours and the universe.

Likewise. #colourporn

Internal dialogue: Jellyfish? Pretty. This doesn’t tie into my deep sea nightmare-inducing fear. [I look at it more carefully.] No no, I’m still okay. It’s like that scene in Finding Nemo. I’m okay. [I read the above hashtag. I look at it again, and imagine the feeling of soft jellyfish floating, brushing against my toes.] NO LONGER OKAY.

Octopus (by ~Cirindell)

giraffe-in-a-tree:

Common Octopus inside a bottle. Since the beaks of Octopi are the only hard parts of their body, they can fit through any opening at least about a square centimeter to a square inch in size depending on the size of the octopus.

Tiny octopus inside of a bottle? Natural science fact? YUP, ALL BETTER.
